Karen Harms - Studio One
Karen Harms approached Harwell Funderburk Design in 2003 with a need for a website design that accurately
represented her portfolio and impressed her curriculum vitae to its viewers. Studio One needed a design that
also complimented her work, a webiste which would make the art stand out for what it was. Harwell Funderburk Design
created a website design that is both simple and elegant and beautifully presents the work of Karen Harms, one of Santa
Fe's finest Abstract Expressionist Painters.
Santa Fe Fiesta Council
Beginning in 2002, HFD took on the task of redesigning and maintaining the
official website for the Santa Fe Fiest Council. The Council is the official governing
body of the Santa Fe tradition known as "Fiestas." The Council was looking for
a new look for their website as well as a public medium for distributing
schedules, forms and information updates. We designed an information distribution method which allowed critical schedule updates
to be reflected instantly over the web as well as a design that incorporated and emphasized the cultural and historical
significance of the celebrations. The result was a clean-looking, well-functioning resource for the Council to share
information with the community.
Charles Mann Photography
Charles Mann has been an independent photographer in Santa Fe for over ten years.
Charles specializes in horticultural photography and needed a website that would accurately represent his work. Charles'
photographs are visually stunning and brilliant when viewed in person and we wanted to maintain
that visual richness in his online portfolio. Charles' photographs were scanned at high resolution and sized down to
dimensions and file sizes that retained the images' original brilliance while maintaining accessibility. The website navigates intuitively
while packing a strong visual punch. Within two
weeks of the sites publication, search results landed Charles consistently in the top five.
Goodnight Studios
Veryl Goodnight is a local artist/sculptor whose reputation is known throughout the country and the world.
Her sculptures reside in places such as the Bush Presidential Library and the Allied Museum in Berlin. Veryl
came to HFD looking for a new image for her website. Veryl wanted a look that was both sophisticated and representative
of her style of Western Art. Veryl also had a rather large inventory of art to manage and present in a way that
was easy to understand and navigate. We handled these issues by designing a crisp layout with a subtly western
color scheme. For the inventory we created several intuitively designed galleries based on artistic subject matter.
The result was a website which was crisp-looking and extremely functional and well-branded with the Artist's style.
